Moss Walk

Around 300 kinds of moss are indigenous to this area. The moss of Oirase Gorge plays an important role in the forest. With this plan, you get a look at a world you have never seen before, by peeking at the world of moss through a magnifying glass.

The Healing Powers of Oirase Gorge -Special Selection-

We recommend this plan to visitors who want to know everything about Oirase Gorge! This special selection course features an around 4 hour walk through Ishigedo, Kumoi-no-taki Falls, and Choshi-otaki Falls. You can fully enjoy the streams and waterfalls of Oirase Gorge.

This is an exploration tour of Lake Towada. You operate the boat yourself and row on the sparkling lake surface. The canoe gives you the same view of the scenery as water birds have, and lets you comfortably proceed through the water surface as if you were gliding, letting you feel at one with the lake. Along with a guide, you can unravel the mysteries of Lake Towada.

Healing Forest Walk

Visitors can walk through a charming promenade with many trees, mainly Japanese oaks and beeches, as well as clusters of dogtooth violets (katakuri) in the spring, and hydrangeas splendidly blooming during the rainy season. From the Mutsu-wan Observatory you can get an extensive view of Mutsu Bay and the Asamushi area, as well as the faraway Tsugaru Peninsula.

Asamushi Onsen Lake Hotaru Snow Hike

Near Asamushi Onsen! Talk a walk on the soft snow in an area where the snow isn’t removed. There are no elevation differences, so you can enjoy it without getting tired.

Nature Tour

Enjoy a healing walk in the beech forest with its gentle and cool breeze. The beeches in Hakkoda are deciduous leaved trees called the Queens of the Forest, with giant tree forms that grow quickly. After the tour is over, you can take a day trip to Sukayu Onsen Ryokan Inn and bathe there.

Sukayu Snowfield Walk with Nothing on Hand

Sukayu Onsen  Snowshoe Hiking

Trekking
-Kenashi Paradise Line-

The downward path for Mt. Hakkoda is the main trekking course. A ropeway is used for the upward path. The alpine flora, particularly the fresh greenery and the autumn leaves season, brings joy to everyone who sees it. We recommend it for those who would like to visit Hakkouda but are not ready for the arduous climb.

Because this is a national park, it is forbidden to cut the plants. However, in this program, participants protect the nature of Aomori by exterminating the naturalized plants (invasive species) that have grown near Hakkoda Summit Park.
